I have the database on one computer and trying to open
it via network from another computer so I can simulateously
work on it. And yes I do have the option-default mode-shared
selected.

When I click on the database nothing happens not even an
error message. However, when I open the database
iniitially from the remote computer it opens fine.

Any words of wisdom out there?
Thanks ahead of time.

I have a funny feeling here. Do both computers have Microsoft Access
(the program) installed? You need the program on whatever computer you are
working from.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I do have it on both machines. 2003 version
installed.

Well the only thing else that comes to mind is that you need full access
from both machines to the directory where the files are located.

The only thing I can think of is that the remote computer with the database
on it my assistant is logged in with limited functionality not the same
functiality as if logged in as the adminstrator. I'm logged in on the other
machine as the adminstrator. I'll have to test it logging her in as the adm'.

thanks.
