ms Access 97 vs Access 2000

Currently, 1 of our analysts has Access2000 and the rest are still on
Access 97. If I convert our database into Access2000 --will the folks
with Access 97 able to run the same database?

all 10 of us should only be using one database to enter/update the
records but 1 out of the 10 is not able to open the database due to
different version on Access installed in her machine.

Any suggestions as how I should handle this? Thank you.

As Access 2000 didn't exist when Access 97 came out, the short answer is no.

(The good news is the Access 2002 and 2003 work with the 2000 format by
default.)

The person with Access 2000 should be able to use the Access 97 format
database just fine. If it is single user, the 2000 person can open the 97
database without even converting. (Although they won't be able to create any
objects, they can add, delete, and modify data just fine.)

If this is a multi-user situation, you need to split the tables out to a
"backend" database of the lowest version you are going to use. Then, any
later version "front-end" can link to the tables just fine.

Good luck.
