I'm trying to burn a Video CD to watch in my DVD player.
It's stuff from a concert my friend played. He just came by and dumped it on
my computer in a MPEG format after digitizing at his home and burning it on
a CD on his computer.
When I try to burn the file in Roxio CD burning program it says I need an
MPEG encoder or else it won't play in a DVD.
Sure enough, still after burning the file we can't watch it on the DVD. I
can see it fine on my computer though. The file is only about 250 mb.

What do I need to do, to see the file in a regular DVD player?

Thanks.

Hi,

Just what the message told you: An mpeg encoder. This is needed to convert
the current file format to VCD format. Check with Roxio for the appropriate
file.

Don't know about Roxio but it's very easy in Nero, just use the option to
create VCD or SVCD.

Should also have added that whilst most recent DVD players will play VCD's
some older ones wont.
