Hi, does anyone know of a link where i can check my
product key for activity, i have installed xp pro on my
desktop and now am trying to install it on my laptop but
it wont let me! I know uts a genuine key because i only
purchased the software last week is it a case of one copy
per pc? If so thats crap, because i purchased it for my
own use and whats the use if i cant use the damn thing!!

Any help would be great!
 
Hi

You can only install one copy of XP onto one PC. If you want a copy of XP on your laptop - and on your desktop at the same time - you will have to purchase another XP CD.

Only you can decide whether MS deserves more of your money to install XP
on your Laptop too.

The rule is quite clear. It's one copy (or one license) for each
computer.



There's nothing new here. This is exactly the same rule that's
been in effect on every version of Windows starting with Windows
3.1. The only thing new with XP is that there's now an
enforcement mechanism.

Get a job and pay for the OS you need for your second PC.
