mp3s in powerpoint

are there any downloads or patches that will allow me to insert mp3 files in my powerpoint presentations?
 
I have found it easier to convert the MP3 file to a WAV file since
PowerPoint accepts those easily. I think there are free converters
available that will do this for you.

MP3s cannot be inserted into PPT 97. The will play in PPT 97, though, if
you use PPT 2000 to insert them.

Is this the problem you're seeing? (Helps if you tell us which version
of PPT.) If not, what happens when you try to insert an MP3?
