Is it possible to convert an MP3 audio file into another
format, then burn it onto a CD and be able to listen to
the content in my regular car/home stereo? Or do I HAVE
to have an MP3 player?
Thanks for any help/info...

most home cd-players will play cd-rs. so u need to make
sure u have Windows Media Player 9 series install. (if not
goto windows update) then just click copy to CD. add the
songs Mp3 or wma and click burn.

You'd be better off having a "real" CD burner software like Nero.

It will convert mp3's as it burns, or if you really want to avoid possible
problems, use WinAmp 2.90 (not version 3.0) to convert your mp3's into wav
format and then burn them on to CD using Nero.

If you go down the Nero road, turn off the XP burner - right click on My
Computer > Manage > Services and Applications > Services and disable IMAPI
CD Burning COM Service. Re-boot.

As for home CD players or portable ones or in-car players, make sure they
can read CD-R's - not all can.

Cheers,
Jerry
