MP3 encoder

Hi all,

Does anyone know of any free libraries that will let me encode .wav files
into .mp3 files?

We have an IP phone system that generates recordings of each conversation in
wav format. Problem is we're getting nearly a gig per day and we're in the
quite season. So looking to write a utility to convert them to mp3 and
catalogue them at the same time.
