MP3 Album information for WMP9

Here is my problem. I have ripped files to MP3 format using RealPlayer
(10?). I then want to play and manage the files with Windows Media Player
9. These files play fine but when I try to retrieve the album info using
the "Find Album Info" command (RealPlayer's info is less accurate) I
sometimes get "Featue Not Available" message. This does not happen for all
albums and I think sometimes if I copy the files to a different computer it
works. Now I have tried checking the file permissions and using a different
3rd party tag editor, neither of which seems to be the problem. I really
need to keep using the MP3 format for some other hardware I have and I would
rather not pay for a plug-in that is not supported by MS. I am using
Windows XP Home and Pro and WMP 9.

Thanks

RealPlayer does use its own tags, as well as standard ID3 tags, but those
shouldn't cause any problems. RealPlayer 10.5 uses the Gracenote CDDB to
retrieve album info. There is not a more accurate service available.

Well, I don't know if RealPlayer is causing the problem, but there is a
problem. In terms of Realplayer being accurate, the problem I have is when I
rip a soundtrack, it comes in as "Various Artists" instead of the actual
artists individual name. WMP fixes this problem, when it can retrieve the
album info that is. Regardless there is a problem here. Someone else has had
the same problem at
http://www.adminlife.com/247reference/msgs/20/100379.aspx. I could not find
a resolution for this post.

You may also want to try Quintessential Player. It also connects to the
Gracenote CDDB, but it has a CDDB editor as well.
Get it free at http://www.quinnware.com/
