I don't know how but somehow Mozilla/4.0 has taken over my
web browser which is supposed to be IE 6.0. I first
noticed this went I tried to log on to my credit card
website. Latter I tried to make some purchases on
Amazon.com where I got the following message:Browser Bug
Attention: there appears to be a bug in the web browser
you are currently using. Your Web Browser is Mozilla/4.0
(compatible MSIE6.0; Windows 98; Win 9x4.90)Iwant my IE
6.0 back but I can't find Mozilla/4.0 anywhere on my
computer. I have tried running Norton Antivirus,Adware
6.0,and Spybot with no success.I lsa have noticed
Mozilla/4.0 in my emails.Below I have pasted a part of one
mail that shows the Browser.
eUser Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows
98; Win 9x 4.90)

Open Internet Explorer.

Go to Tools, Internet Options.

Click on the Programs tab.

Click on the box next to Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is
the default browser.

Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; Win 9x 4.90) is about right
for IE6 running under Windows 98: though I don't know what 'Win 9x 4.90'
refers to.

The 'Mozilla/4.0' substring basically says that IE6 implements HTML 4. The
'compatible' means that it is not Netscape. 'MSIE 6.0' means IE6.

your system. If that dont do it,.start---run---type in
regedit---ok---edit tab---find---type in mozilla---find---
deleate mozilla from it,keep going till it's all removed--
-B-4 you do this allways best to make a restore point

And as I told you, the userAgent you cite seems to be right for IE. IE
userAgent strings all begin with 'Mozilla'!

The Web site is improperly coded for recognizing IE6.
