moving Win89 files to xp

Hi, I`ve been using win98se for the last 6 years and have backed up all my
music mp3 and photo jpg files to CD will I be able to open these files on my
new XP home machine ?

How did you back them up? Did you just copy them onto CDs? If so, yes, there
should be no problem.

But if you used special software, you would need the same software on XP.
The Windows 98 backup program is not compatible with Windows XP's.
