I am having problems working with a couple of my customers using
Windows-xp Pro. They suggest I move up to Windows-xp Corporate. What
is this version and what advantages over xp pro if any? Thanks in
advance.

Hi Larry,

The name is a misnomer - there is no such thing as "Windows XP Corporate".
There *is* a volume license version of Windows XP Professional, but the only
difference between it and the retail Pro version is the activation. If they
(or you) are already using Pro, then they already have everything the volume
license version does.

Larry,
There is no XP "Corporate". There is, however, a version called
Volume Licensing. It is designed for large organizations, and
does not require activation. But, it is the same exact software
as XP Professional. You won't gain anything by trying a volume
licensing version.

HTH.

Actually, there is no such thing as WinXP "Corporate Edition."
That is a term applied exclusively to pirated (iow, stolen) copies of
the Volume Licensed WinXP Pro by the "warez" aficionados.

Oh, and in technical terms, there is *NO* difference between retail,
OEM, or Volume Licensed version of WinXP Pro. The only differences lie
entirely in the licensing.

The only place where that term has been used is in relation to pirated
copies of the Volume Licensed version of XP Pro. So this leads me to
suspect that your customers are in fact using this pirate software, and
I would drop them unless they can prove otherwise. The Volume license
version BTW is exactly the same as Pro, just supplied under different
license terms (and therefore not needing activation - hence popularity
of the pirated copies)
