moving to outlook from express

Hi

I'm moving to Outlook from Express. Can anyone tell me:

1 - How to change the default email client recognized by Excel from express
to Outlook
2 - does outlook handle newsgroups?

1) You don't tell Excel; it is a system wide setting in Control Panel->
Internet Options-> tab Programs
2) It doesn't; it uses OE for hat. There are several NNTP add-ins for
Outlook available though.
