moving My Pictures folder

My 40Gb hard disk is partitioned to half C: and half F:
C: is becoming full and F: has very little on it.

"My Pictures" folder (on C: partition) is very large and
I thought it might speed the system up if I moved it to F:

I now find that the folder "My Pictures" appears on both partitions.

Obviously I am making "Newbie" errors.

Help please

Hi

It's a System folder. Even after you have moved it, and then even deleted
that folder, it will reappear on the next reboot.

Ah! thank you, for info.

If I call the F: "My pictures" something different,is there a way I
can then include that folder in the list that appears when I right
click on an item and select the"Send To" option

First off you can move the entire "My Documents" folder to the other drive
if you'd like to. (Right click "My Documents" on the start menu or left
pane of explorer, choose "Properties" and click "Move".) Possibly there may
be issues related to programs(AIM was one, I think) that stored the path to
the original "My Documents " folder in the registry, I seem to faintly
recall something of this nature occurring and either causing errors or
recreating the old path folder. I don't recommend newbies mucking about in
the registry to fix it.

If you decide to just call F: "My pictures" something different, create a
shortcut to this folder and place it in your SendTo folder, likely:
C:\Documents and Settings\(your username)\SendTo

might be able to change location in

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell
Folders\my pictures
or
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders\my pictures

backup your registry first!

Thanks to all,
I think I have it sorted now.
The "SendTo" folder was hidden, but I now have it the way I want.
