Is there a way to move mail and folders from windows live mail (hotmail) to
windows mail on my new vista machine? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm adding to this thread because it's close to my problem and Gary to be
perfectly honest u seem nice & not scary as some of the other experts on her.
Could u possibly tell if it is possible to mark all the emails u want to
move and move at one time, as in move to delete or move to a folder like in
gmail.
Thanks so much

Windows Mail does not handle Hotmail accounts.
However, you can install Windows Live Mail (WLM) on your new Vista machine.
WLM does accommodate Hotmail accounts.

You can select individual messages by holding down the Ctrl key and select
more.
If all messages are together hold down the Shift key while selecting the
first and last message to be moved, all in between will be selected.

Was that scary enough for you :-))

Dear Steve,
I can't thank you enough for the help. It is so very appreciated.
Please know I meant no offense. New to the community, literally hours ago
and had only read a few replys. Some of which I have to say get a little....
"snippy" would be the word I would use. So I was looking for a "safe" place
to show my stupidty. To be honest at my age, people are used to knowing it
all, now my first-grade grandson knows more, progress!
You sir are kind and a gentleman. Thank you.
