moving files

I bought a new computer.
I atempted to move them to my new computer by copying them to a CD. When I
put the new CD in the new computer it will not let me copy them to the hard
disk because they are now marked read only. When I check back on my old
computer none of them are marked read only. I am also unable to delete them
from the CD-RW because of the read only property. What am I doing wrong?
What can I do?

The CD-RW is the clue - you made the original disk with packet writing
software like Nero's InCD or Roxio's DirectCD. You need the same
program (or a UDP reader) on the new computer in order to read them.
The easiest thing would be to go back to the old computer (since you
still have it) and just burn the files to CD-R (not RW) using the
regular burning program - not the packet writing program.
