Maybe the following articles will offer some ideas:
(928634) How to use Windows Easy Transfer
to migrate files and settings from one Windows-
based computer to another Windows Vista-based
computer http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928634/en-us
Did you mean on a dual boot or on different computers because you can
shortcut to the XP desktop from the Vista desktop on a dual boot or on
networked pcs by using
XP Drive\Documents and Settings\Vernon's user profile on XP\Desktop
and likewise while on XP's desktop if you even feel the need to be there
Vista Drive\Users\Vernon's profile\Desktop
You can also sub in any particular file or folder name in this pathway. I
never bother to copy unless the file or folder is one I want right on my
Vista desktop or in a folder on Vista for this reason and also because Vista
search can find the file or folder if you're dual booting.
If you are moving files to a new pc, then by all means take a look at the
Easy Transfer resources John provided for you.
