On a few XP Pro systems we use, when you left-click on an
icon to move it on the Desktop (Auto Arrange OFF, Snap to
Grid ON or OFF), there is no "ghost" icon under the
dragged mouse cursor as the cursor moves to the desired
position. There IS on most every other Win 98/2K/XP
machine we have. Does anyone know what registry setting
needs to be tweaked to fix this confusing "feature?"

One of the check boxes at Control Panel - System - Advanced -
Performance; click Settings

I think you mean the 'show shadow under mouse pointer' one, but I am for
having all the top ten unchecked. THey seem to add nothing, but some
such up quite a lot of CPU

I Had Same Problem On A New Install

Check ; Right Click On Desktop -- Open Arrange Icons - And Maker Sure
Lock Web Items On Desktop Is NOT Checked ...
Fixed This One
