Moving between form fields on locked (protected) doc.

In Word 2003, when a form was locked, you could move from field to field with
the TAB key to fill out the form. I cannot figure out how to do this in
2007. I can only move to fields by clicking in them with the mouse. What am
I doing wrong?

Thank you.

Hi Bmosbacker,

Tabbing between formfields works the same in Word 2007 as in earlier versions.

Are you working with an existing document, or trying to create a new one? If it's the latter, are you sure you're using formfields
(via the 'Legacy Tools' button) and not the new Content Controls - both found under Developer|Controls?

Cheers

Thank you for the response. I was creating a test form from scratch. I
used the forms fields and then "locked" the document but hitting the TAB key
did not move me from field to field. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Also,
was exactly are the Content Controls and what are they for and when are they
used?

Thanks again for your response!

Hi Bmosbacker,

Re Content Controls:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms406055.aspx

It'd be easy to mistake them for the old-style formfields, except that empty text Content Controls have 'Click here to enter text'
in them and tabbing inserts tabs within the Control instead of taking you to the next one.
