Currently have some apps and do most of my internet access via 98SE. My
personal data associated with these apps in stored an alternate FAT32
partition. XP Home is already installed, and am using a 3rd party boot
manager.

Is there any central location to find out if some apps may work in XP as I
intend to move most there except for some old dos oriented games?
Apps include MS Office 2K, Nero Burning Rom 5.5, AdSubtract Pro 3.06,
Mailwasher Pro 4.1.9, Quik View Plus 6.01, others have already been moved or
updated to newer versions to that support XP.

I don't know about the other ones, but Office 2K will work fine. You'll
have to update Nero to 6.0 but that's free from Nero.

Program Compatibility with Windows XP
After upgrading to Windows XP, you may find that some of your older programs
don't work. But don't fret, as there is always something you can do to help
as most programs designed for Windows 95/98/ME will run on XP. But of
course, it does seem that the only ones that refuse to run are the ones you
really, really need!

If you can't get a program to run on XP/2000, go through the following
steps:
Right click the program icon under the Programs menu, then select Properties
from the resulting menu. Click the Compatibility tab. You can choose what
version of Windows you want XP to pretend to be. As an example, let's say
you have a program that installs but refuses to run. If you set its
compatibility for Windows 98, you may find that it's now perfectly happy
doing its thing on XP - and the nicest thing is that it's blissfully
ignorant of the fact it's been tricked! But be aware that this will only
work about 50% of the time.

But there is always a second method, isn't there? Windows XP also has a
"Program Compatibility Wizard" that will search for the best version of
Windows to run a program under. To get there, click StartHelp/Support, then
"Find compatible hardware and software for Windows XP", and finally, under
"See Also" in the navigation pane, click Program Compatibility Wizard where
you will be given instructions on what to do. Finally, another suggestion is
to update your program. How often do you go to the website of a software
manufacturer and look for program updates? Most of the time you can download
update patches for free! And that may help you fix your favourite program
that just won't run under XP!

I would expect QV Plus 6.01 to work. I use an older version and it
works fine.
