Does anyone know if it is possible to move AD from a W2003
server domain controller to an additional W2000 server?

I have tried using dcpromo but came across errors?

Can anyone help?

Sorry, correction to the message below...

I meant adding (not moving) AD from a W2003 DC to an
additional W2000 DC

Hi Marlon

If the funtional level of the domain/forest has been raised to a level that
disallows Windows 2000 DC's, you won't be able to add one.

Hi Lanwench,

Half-way during the process the following message appears:

Active Directory Installation Failed.

An ldap read of operational attributes from the server
SERVERNAME.DOMAIN failed

"An error occured while installing the directory service.
For more information see the event log."

** The 'SERVERNAME' is the name of the server currently
hosting the AD, running Windows 2003.

cheers,
