Movie Maker shuts down

MM shuts down when I try to import a video file, there are no error messages
that appear, it just shuts down. It will let me open pictures folder but not
any video file folder folder. As soon as the screen that lets you browse for
folders opens MM shuts down to the desktop..... any help, thanks
