Movie Maker closes when I add an eighth clip

I've just started using movie maker and when ever I add an eigth clip to the
storyboard the programme closes. It doesn't matter whether this is an AVI
clip or title/credit. It also happens if I split a clip and this increases
the number of clips to 8. Can anyone help?

I'm new to MovieMaker also so don't take this as expert info. I had a problem
with the program hanging up while editing. One thing that helped was deleting
the photos from the "imported to:" pane and then saving the increments
regularly.

I am currently reviewing the errors in the event log to see if their are any
recommended User Actions that will address any specific problems. So far the
errors noted are just called Applicantion hanging and have no recommened User
Action. To check for errors review the Event Viewer. This link will have info

p.s. have you been able to import .mov (quicktime) clips?
