movie maker and analog video

I have copy some vcr clips and saved them on my
computer. I go to import into collection and the file
appears. however, I click on the mpeg file and it runs
but with a black screen I drag the file into video and
it's not their. I have run the mpeg on real video before
i tried it in mover maker. any help!!

Movie maker requires a mpeg decoder to be installed on the pc for it to work
with mpeg files, such as powerdvd. This does not always guarantee success
though and it is best to work with avi files, so maybe a google search for a
convertor.
