Movie Maker 2 won't install

This seems to be a common problem, but I just can't seem
to find a solution in the newgroups.

On my PC, the Movie Maker 2 install goes through the
motions of installing, but when you start it and check
Help->About it is still version 1.

Is there a solution to get this to force the upgrade to
version 2 somehow?

OK, Steve, here's what I did: downloaded a patch (bugfix)
from the manufacturer (in my case HP)in order to be able
to install WinXP ServicePack1 (125 Mb download!)But
before I was able to install that, I had to make a full
restore on my HP Pavilion. How's that for user friendly
Microsoft products?

Heya Larsivar,

Thanks, but I found a much easier way to fix it and
documented it in the "Uninstall Movie Maker 2 - Heres how"
thread... and I was all set to reinstall WindowsXP! :-D
