Move to recycle bin dialog box

This has probably been asked before but I could find an answer that helped.
The "Do you want this file moved to the recycle bin" window does not appear
when I try to delete a file. What I get is "do you want to delete this file"
question.I do not have the check mark at the "Do not move files to the recyle
bin" box and I do have the "delete confimation check in it's box. The files
are being deleted without giving me a choice. What has changed ?

Maybe this registry tweak:

Line 64. (r-h column) Replace/Repair the Recycle Bin in Windows XP

Goose,

Right-click Recycle Bin | Properties & check the box that says Display Delete Confirmation
Box | Click APPLY | OK

This is also been done. Interestingly when I look at the properties for the
Recycle bin,it does not have any drive tabs at all.Could this be a clue to
the problem

Thanks WaIIy,

Yes, i downloaded and ran the Regedit as instructed, then rebooted but the
problem is still there. That is; No notice of sending the file to the
Recycle Bin even though that option is enabled. All deletes are permanent.

Thanks,

Jim S.
