This has been a problem for me since Word XP. On some docs enter will move
the cursor on line, on some 2, and I have one I use frequently where it does
it one way on page 1 and another on page 2. I have tried the 2003 style, same
problem.

Make sure that you have the desired setting for Line Spacing and Spacing
Before/After.

If this is Word 2007, you can change the defaults via the Styles pane
(Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S). Click the Manage Styles button. On the Edit tab, specify
the desired settings.

Sorry, I meant to write the *Set Defaults* tab. That is where you set the
defaults, which makes sense, I guess. :-)

Also, to transfer the modified defaults to the attached template, be sure to
choose "New documents based on this template" before clicking OK to close
the Manage Styles dialog box.

Thanks for the help Stephan. The line spacing in paragraph settings seemed
to be what did it.

best wishes, lloyd
