I have successful move other Shell Folders to my other partition, however i
have not found any information on how to move C:\Program Files\Common Files\
to a different drive.

Any Ideas?

Do not attempt to move this folder, or anything Under C:\Program Files.
C:\Program Files, and its sub folders, is the one "constant" that every
program you install expects to see. I have not seen a major program that
DOES NOT install files there. Leave it alone unless you want problems.

Why do you want to move this? Need more space? There are other things you
can do.

If you knew as much as you think you know,
You would realize that you don't know what you thought you knew!

You should not try moving the present content-otherwise there will be
trouble.

I would advise rather that when you install software in future you take
a Custom Install, and install it into a folder you make on the other
partition.

But if you want to try, use regedit.exe, open to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\
and change the ProgramFilesDirectory entry's data in the right column.
Close the registry editor and restart the machine.

Well this is thing, can you resize a partition where one is FAT32 and the
other is NTFS? I am dead out of space, XP die when I went out of the country.
It was not my brother's fault. All the space ran out of C: and XP just kept
producing stop error BOSD and rebooted repeatedly.

So can you resize partition?

You can use Partition Magic 8.01 and later to resize partitions.

1. Defrag the partition that you wish to shrink. Run chkdsk on each existing
partition to clear any errors that may cause problems.

2. Boot up the PC using the 2 floppy disks that you create with the
Partition Magic program.

3. Resize the partition you want to shrink, being certain that you leave the
freed up space adjacent to the Windows partition..

You should have thus: Windows partition | free space | partition just
reduced in size

4. Resize the Windows partition to utilize the free space.

NOTE: Standard warning! Backup - Backup - Backup your data. If anything
goes wrong (it can happen) you may lose everything.

I tried it. Didn't do any good. Windows and most other program's worked, but
10 or so program, didn't.

Anyways way an experience.

Decided to go with the partition resizing option, everything works fine now.

Thanks for the help :--)
