.mov video in PP presentation

I just purchased a Koda Easyshare digital camera with
video feature. It uploads the pics into .mov format.
Powerpoint will not load the video clip into my slide
because it does not recognize that format. Is there a
conversion program available online or through microsoft
that will allow me to use these clips in my PP
presentation?

..MOV 's are the QuickTime movie format from Apple. You will need to
upgrade your QuickTime Player to Quicktime Pro, which can be done online for
about $30. Once you've done this, you will be able to edit the movies, and
export them to the .AVI format. I just did that over the weekend, and it's
worth the money.

Contrary to the other reply you received, I believe you
can view QT movies in PPt, but not via the Insert |
Movies and Sounds menu. It's been a while since I did
this, but one or both of these ideas will work... Drag
and drop your mov file into your presentation from My
Computer or Windows Explorer, etc. Or, use the INsert |
Object menu command and then browse to find your mov file
and select it. I believe these methods will insert the
QT player (assuming you have it on your system... regular
or Pro, it doesn't matter) into your presentation, so
that when you click on the Action Link the QT player will
pop up and play your mov file. If you don't want to see
the player, then you must follow the advise of your other
respondent.
