When my mouse hovers over an internet link, it goes to the page for the link.
How do I turn this off? (I couldn't find it in accessibility/mouse
settings.)

The mouse-options are in the configuration menu. Also in the folderoptions
you can set selection options. In individual programs may also be
mousefeaters involved.

Where would I find it in the configuration menu--I didn't see it there? (I'm
using Vista.) I didn't see it in the folder options either.

HI!
No. Mouse is not accessibility. Please go to control panel and click mouse
icon. Make setting up.

It's the same "Mouse Properties" screen as the one I get by going through
Accessibility. Either way, the option is not there for me to turn this
feature off.

I'm sorry, but my problem is not trying to get the mouse to single click, nor
am I trying to change the click speed. I'm trying to turn off the feature
that just automatically follows a link when my mouse cursor is hovering over
it. It is not under the mouse options in any of the tabs, and it's not under
the internet options. It seems such a simple thing, yet it illudes me, and
apparently everyone else. So, maybe I should speak to a technician?
Thanks for the help.

Just a thought -

Does the mouse act as if the left button has been clicked in other
situations?

Maybe the left button is faulty.

Have you tried another mouse?

I haven't tried another mouse. (I have a touchpad.) But, my husband's
computer does the same thing, so it seemed to me the problem is not the mouse.

I did not quite tell you that I had this same anoying problem when I first
started my new laptop. I did a lot of things you did by now, and I realy
cannot put a finger on it to, what caused the problem. All I can say that the
problem vanished somewhere on the run. Maybe it had nothing to do with the
settings, as you also doubt in the meantime. What we did not synchronise is
the fact that I installed and runned ever since is the Windows update
program. Witch, you know, runs on line updating your machine with windows
patches, but also installs new versions of your hardware drivers, maby that's
why the problem is solved on my laptop. So I suggest, if you did not by now,
that you start this. An other way is to visit your touchpath manifactory and
look for driver updates. You can Live Search for the site, or try some site
on advise for updating drivers. Don't install version tracker, you will
regognise, it is was a kind of helpzilla to me!
