I use a wireless Microsoft mouse and about half the time I boot up Windows
XP Pro my mouse is frozen. If I reboot the mouse works fine. The mouse has
fresh batteries. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions ?

Does the receiver unit connect to the PC using USB or PS2 ? Most
Wireless devices have multiple channels they can use. I would try to
switch to an alternate channel and see if the problem persists. If so, &
connected with USB I would put the PS2 adapter on the receiver plug
and connect it to the PS2 (Mouse/Green Socket) on the computer.

One other item is to check the BIOS setting for "Legacy USB". It
should be enabled.

Make sure the receiver is not located near any other powered hardware or
your desk lamp.
