Mouse Over Animation Triggers

Christine

I was forwarded a question by a coworker recently that asked about using
this feature and was a bit confused when I couldn't find it as an option in
2007. Is this the case or can I just not find it? Didn't this used to be
available for animations as well as hyperlinks?

Here is the question I was asked:

I'm trying to find out how to add a "trigger" to a ppt presentation. E.g
having some explanation appear when one moves the mouse over a text or graph.
Would you be able to help me where to find instructions? I've consulted the
help function in ppt but haven't found the instruction I was looking for.

Thanks as always...

Sonia had a quick trick for the mouseover text. Wouldn't that be enough?

Ah, yeah. QuickTrick #16.

There are mouseover hyperlinks but not mouseover animation triggers in

But how about this ...

Slide 1 has a mouseover that hyperlinks to Slide 2, which is a duplicate
of 1,
except ...

Slide 2 has a [whatever] animated to appear With Previous.

So in playback:

You view Slide 1, you waggle yer mousie over the mouseover thingie.
PPT shows you Slide 2, which looks just like Slide 1, so you see no
change,
but the animation starts up.

Does that voi yer la?

I'm having a horrid time trying to post anything here.... Tried IE v6 on the
PC as well as Safari and Firefox on the Mac and I keep getting system error
messages!

Thanks everyone...

I'm not sure why I confused the options between hyperlinking and animation??

I've looked at my coworker's presentation and basically, she is putting
together an eLearning module that will be pulled into Adobe Presenter. There
are a few slides where she would like mouse over explanations of terms, etc
for those that are not familiar w/ them because many of the end users will
already know them...but not all.

I'm going to play around w/ the presentation (I just got it), try your
suggestions, and see what I can figure out

I appreciate all of your ideas!

animation??

Well, because they are confusing! Because you can emulate animations with
hyperlinks and vice-versa. And the Action Settings place (where you can also
insert hyperlinks) lets you do mouseover stuff as well as "on click" stuff.
So I can definitely see why you'd get them confused!
