mouse over and image pops up?

Hello

I'm working in PowerPoint 2003 and would like to know if it is possible to
set up something where you mouse over a word or an image and an image pops
up on that same page (ie not a hyperlink to a new slide)?

thank you!

Christina,
I think you can. Select the image you want to appear when clicking on a text
or any object for that matter. Activate the task pane custom animation.
Choose an entrance effect, click on the arrow next to the effect and choose
the tab timing, right at the bottom there is a button with which you can
activate an object by clicking on another object just choose in the list the
object. That should do it. Sorry if I do not use the exact terminology
(Dutch version here), but I am sure someone else will step in and make
things clearer for you.

That worked! Under effect options, there is a button called "trigger", and
you can choose what you want to trigger the animation.

Thank you!

Christina,
I just realized your question was related to a mouse over action, my
solution envolves clicking. But you also can add an action setting to an
object, right click your object and choose action settings, then link to
your image and it should be easy to hover over it and the image will pop-up,
as I recall it will be in a seperate window. So this may not be entirely
what you will expect.

Glad to be off help, in the meantime I posted a second answer but I do not
think this what you intended so never mind.

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello Christina,

The Action Settings for mouse over do not include the option display a
pop-up (image, text, etc.) and "MouseOver" and MouseOff" are not valid
triggers for animation effects either (but if mouse-click is OK then using
triggers would be a good workaround).

If you (or anyone else reading this message) have suggestions as to
improved rollover/mouse-over capabilities in PowerPoint (without having to
resort to VBA or add-ins so that it will work in the PowerPoint Viewer as
well), don't forget to send your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to
Microsoft at:

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions)
