Mouse not scrolling in Windows XP.. Help!!

I have an IBM mouse with a scroll wheel that worked perfect in Windows ME.
I completely dumped the system and installed Windows XP from scratch, but
not my wheel does not work on my mouse! I have tried numerous things:

1) I went into device manager and it reports a Microsoft PS/2 Mouse
2) "Assume wheel is present" is selected under the mouse device manager
properties
3) I uninstalled the mouse, rebooted and it was found/installed again by
Windows XP but still no wheel function!

In fact, when I goto the control panel and select the mouse, I do not have
a Scroll tab in the mouse properties! Aargh!

Any ideas?? Please??

One idea try installing the drivers from IBM's Website.
Then Win XP should see the IBM Scroll Mouse. You can
check by looking in the device manager, and it should say
IBM Scroll Mouse or something like that. Then the scroll
mouse should work.
