Uninstall,reinstall/update the mouse driver.

Does that help?

or,you may try with another mouse.

Hi, John.

I presume you've checked the plug connection. Otherwise you can
'Troubleshoot' and/or roll back the driver - unless you have a driver CD -
by navigating to Control Panel and selecting "Mouse".

Hope this helps.

Hi John,
Start>Run>devmgmt.msc>OK to launch Device Manager>Expand Mice and other
pointing devices;under that you will find Mouse.Right Click on it and
select Uninstall.Restart your System.Windows will now detect your Mouse.

You haven't mentioned which type/made mouse you have.Visit the
respective manufacturer's website to download and install the latest driver.

Hi, John.

I notice little has been said, how do do all this without a mouse!

All keyboards are different but I believe this part is common to all. Hold
down the Windows key. Let it go and the Start menu pops up. You can navigate
it using the arrrows. The arrows will also work in Control Panel. When you
get to the Tabs, you will need to experiment to select the tabs.

I rummaged around but did it too quick so now I can't find it again. I held
down the Spacebar and clicked on letters.

If anybody else can help with this, it would be really useful.

Good luck.

The mouse is NOT frozen. Windows is frozen. Get rid of all sypware for
best results.
