mouse cursor travelling uncontrollably over the destop

I have my mouse cursor travelling uncontrollably over the destop, sometimes
opening some applications (eg. Day/Time property) and does bnot respond to
the mouse.
It is somehow connected to the mouse driver as when I unplug the mouse and
use that stick on the keyboard (between G and H) instead, it wors fine.

How do I fix it?

Replace the mouse, it's defective.
