Mouse Cursor Rainbow in XP

Occasionally, my mouse pointer will scroll throught the
colors of the rainbow, instead of remaining the default
white... What does this mean? I think in NT it used to
mean that The event viewer just recorded something... but
it does not appear that it is configured like this in
XP...

Please help...
 
This is XP configurable
control panel
printers&oth hardware
mouse
Click on use default
Then you will have lost your rainbow. But why? The
rainbow is pretty!!

A person can never loose their rainbow
(although they can forget about it).
