MOUSE CLICK TOO FAST, TOO SLOW???

I hope I am not the only one with this problem. I have my mouse setting set
to fast so that it will eliminate an accidental double clicks when all I want
is a single click, but even that won't help. My mouse tends to go one step
beyond where I want it to go, e.g. to click on the forward in the MS Picture
Manager, it will skip over one photo just about everytime. I have never had
this problem with Windows XP, only with Vista. Any solutions?

just a guess but it sounds like your mouse is busted - it's clicking once
when you press it and again when you release it - try a different mouse and
see if it's the same

That's a thought. *duh* ...why didn't I think of that. That would
definitely be step one. Thanks!

Set Windows to single-click to Open and hover to Select?

Consider another mouse as the current one's particular design might not
match you?

Slow the mouse double-click speed so it will require a more deliberate
double click?
