XP Home has a limit of five concurrent connections; one of the computers may
be hanging on and not releasing a connection. XP Pro has a 10-connection
limit - may be worth the upgrade. Or look into a server OS if you think your
network is going to grow or is near 10 now. I don't like having more than a
handful of computers in a workgroup, so I'd use a domain model/Active
Directory (and XP Pro for all clients).
