Hello,

Can someone please tell me how I can get more than 256 color depth on my
client connections to a 2000 Terminal server. The server itself is setup at
24bit color depth and 1024 x 768 resolution.

Thanks,

James

Expand TS Client by clicking on options button and go to display tab. You
can choose upto 24 bit color depth.

I am using Remote Desktop application to connect to the Windows 2000
Terminal Server, however, when I select 24bit, it defaults to 256 colors
once connected to the server.

Any other ideas?

I believe color depth in Windows 2000 Terminal Server is limited to 256
colors. I will confirm this and get back to you.

RDP 5.1 & 5.2 (XP Pro & Server 2003) support up to 24 bit color depth & resolutions up to 1600x1200, but 2000 Server's RDP Protocol (5.0) is limited to 256 colors

The ONLY way to support higher color depth on 2000 Terminal Server is by adding Citrix MetaFrame & ICA
