More than one operating system

I have added a couple of hard drives to my computer and re-installed Windows
XP on a new drive. Now, when I start the computer, it askes me which
operating system I would like to use. It gives me 3 choices, all of them
being Windows XP. I formated the old drive where Windows was installed
previously, and have XP installed only on one of the drives. If I choose the
wrong one I get an error message. How can I get rid of this and have the
computer start normaly and go directly to Windows?

Obviously when you did your 'clean' install - you missed a step or a half
dozen. ;-)

Easy to fix - you merely need to edit the boot.ini file and get rid of the
offending (bum) entries - leaving only the working entry.
(Google for "edit boot.ini in Windows XP")

This is the boot.ini file, it is the second Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
that is workin, what do I get rid of?
Forgive me, I do not know the first thing about computers.

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=signature(ab77ab77)disk(1)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
signature(ab77ab77)disk(1)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home
Edition" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home
Edition" /fastdetect
