More drop down menu

I tried the AutoFilter but I am still seeing the options.
Where have I misunderstood? Here is what I have:

Type Description Quoted Price
Concrete Bla 1
Wood Frame Bla Bla 2
IFC Bla Bla Bla 3

When I use the Auto Filter I highlighted the Concrete,
Wood Frame and IFC rows (with data). I now have a drop
down menu but you still see all selections below. I would
like to have the selections that I have not chosen to
disapear. Any suggestions?

I'm still not sure I follow you, but I'll try to throw out a few
suggestions. How about trying the AutoFilter without selecting specific
rows? Excel should make the appropriate selection unless you have breaks in
your data. If that fails, try to include the header row in your selection
when you start the AutoFilter.

If you are trying to make all of the options on the AutoFilter dropdown list
disappear, I'm afraid I don't know how to do this. As long as you have
Concrete, Wood Frame, and IFC in your data range, I think those three
options will still appear in your autofilter list. You could add another
category column to narrow down the available selections.

It would make it a little easier if you replied to a thread rather than
starting a new one. Anyway, I hope you get this worked out.

Ok- I think I got it. I appreciate your help. It was
because I was highlighting all of the selections, verses
the catagory like you said. My contracts should look a
little more presentable now. Thank you.

I've come late to this dance, but maybe I can shed a little light. When
you make a selection over one column, the autofilter lists for the other
columns only include items that are still visible in those columns.
F'rinstance, if this is my data table:

a 1
b 2
c 2
a 1
b 2
c 2

if I select 2 from the second column autofilter dropdown, the a option
disappears from the first column's dropdown, because only b and c are
still visible.
