I want the 'BOTTLE' to show RED when the date is 5 years past - 'HYDRO 1'...
then i'd like to have it go back to BLACK when a date has been entered into
the 'HYDRO 2' column to satisfy the 5 year term.

A B C D E
BOTTLE Purchased HYDRO 1 HYDRO 2 EXP. DATE
1151 7/1997 2/2003 7/1/2012
1152 3/1997 2/2003 2/1/2008 3/1/2012

<<when a date has been entered into the 'HYDRO 2' column to satisfy the 5
year term.>>

OK, that's pretty cryptic. Enter a date in Hydro 2 and is:

1) less than 5 years from Purchased date?
2) less than 5 years from Hydro 1 date?
3) less than 5 years from Exp Date?
4) or something else?

it doesnt have to be EXACTLY 5 years from the Hydro 1 date... just showing it
has BEEN HYDRO'D (checked) some time around the date in the Hydro 1 column.
(basically, every 5 years the bottles have to be checked) after the 3rd
check, they are 'dead' and have to be removed from inventory.)

example;
hydro 1 = 2/2003
hydro 2 = 5/2008

this is 5 years and 3 months, but it's still OK.

REALLY.... it would work if ANY date that i enter into the column of HYDRO
2 would revert the BOTTLE back to it's original (black) formatting... to show
it is OK until the formatting on the EXPIRATION DATE takes effect.
