I would like to have the option of monitoring the guestlog before it goes to
public view. For instance, my site is viewed by families. Someone is
posting "Viagra" adds in my guest book. If that page was available to me to
check before it got posted, it would save a big headache.

You would have to switch over to a standard Front Page
form that submits to your email. You would then
manually "post" to a page you craft to act as your
guestlog.

Unfortunately the answer is no.
About the only option is to place the guest book and it's "input form" in a password protected
directory and then only let people post to whom you have given the password.
Sad way to have to do it, but it's one of the disadvantages of trying to do something nice and then
having to deal with those "World wide Web" users who have no concept of manners or decency.
