Monitor shutdown

My 2 month old XP Pro SP1 computer fails to shutdown
the monitor most of the time. It may shut it down maybe
one time out of a dozen times. I have tried different
screen savers and no screen saver and get the same
results. I have tried different times like 30 minutes,
one hour and so on. Any ideas here on what is wrong here.
 
Check ur BIOS first, to see if there is sth goofy.
Also go to the System Property -> Performance -> Power
management to make sure the Advance Management is on.
Dont forget to update ur latest video controller driver.
