Hello, I have grown up on 95/98 so I apologise if this is
settings or command problem. My Dad just purchased a
Compaq with XP loaded and a HP monitor. Periodically the
graphics/monitor flip 90 degrees including the
functionality of the mouse. The only way we have been
able to flip it back is to re-install the driver.. It's a
pain... Any ideas... We have downloaded a new driver and
it continues to happen.. Thanks..

The clue is that is happens "periodically". If this is random, then
there is a hardware problem. This should not happen "all by itself".
Since this is a new machine and monitor, take it back immediately.

It might be a feature that you accidentally activate by some easy to
hit keyboard shortcut. Look under the advanced properties for the
graphics card.
