Monitor Overbrightness

Hi

I just bought a second user Trinitron 21 inch monitor and I'm having trouble
with the brightness. No matter what I do to the brightness & contrast, I
can't get a decent black or saturated colors. I've also tried tinkering with
the brightness etc. in the Windows advanced display settings :(

Anyone have an idea of what I could try?

Thanks

Vince

Being second-user, this may not mean you can dis-count this, but is the
monitor still under warranty? I'd try Sony's site for any tips or hints
that may help you. Start with http://www.sonystyle.com/

This may be why someone else has retired the monitor. The tube may be
going out, dimming, so was opened and adjusted, but will always be a
bit "off". If you can't live with it as-is, return it or sell it.

Look around in the video card drive software your likely to find just the
adjustments you need.
