Is there a way I can monitor the progress of an SFM index rebuild on a
Win2K (SP4) Server? I'd really like to know how long it would take;
or at least get some sort of notification that it is finished.

Not exactly what you are looking for, but you can display status of SFM
index volumes using our free tool MacVolumes, see:
