My monitor switches off a few minutes after boot (it's miracle it has allowed
me to go this far today). The green light however still flashes, which
indicates power supply is fine. CPU and PSU would also be running. I've made
sure both are free of dust. I've also checked my power settings in BIOS.
Everything seems normal.

I'm running Windows XP, Home Edition, Version 2002, Service Pack 2. Computer
is Intel (R) Pentium (R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz 512 MB of RAM.

Would appreciate any suggestions ........

Hello Ace,

Does the monitor stay functioning in Safe Mode? If so, it suggests
that there is a problem with your video drivers. They should be
uninstalled/installed and/or updated.

It looks like a hardware issue. Here's what I would try:

- Turn off the monitor for a couple of minutes, then turn it back on.

or

- Borrow a monitor to see if that's the problem.

If not the monitor,

- The graphics card, psu (power supply unit) or motherboard is failing
when it heats up. Make sure all fans are running. Try another graphics
card, or psu.
