I recently had my IBM PC upgraded to XP Home by a
professional. When I got it home and hooked it up to the
monitor, I could see the normal things on the screen that
come up when you startup, then the window showing that
Windows was loading. Then the screen goes blank. I hear
the Windows music indicating that Windows is loaded but
still the screen is blank. The guy who worked on the
computer for me said that my monitor might not have been
set with the right resolution (it's a few year sold) so
hook the computer up to another monitor and when it comes
up reset the resolution lower for the older monitor, etc.
etc. I decided to just go ahead and buy a new monitor and
hooked it up tonight and the same thing happened. Not that
I don't trust my pro, but before I have to pay him to come
to the house, any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks.
