Modified flabed question?

Hi,

Would it improve the sharpness for scanning 35mm slides on a flatbed
scanner to have a lightsource with condenser lens above it (like in an
enlarger. The light (just for a 35mm slide, you understand - not
something covering the whole bed) would then be colimated rather than
diffused.

It makes a lot of difference in enlargers. have any of you done such
experiments?

Just curious.

Cheers.

You can continually improve on a purse made from a sow's ear, but it
is still a pigskin purse. I've heard that you can make a really great
pigskin purse. But if you want a silk purse...... get a silk purse.
